Delta Is Now Selling Packable COVID Tests for Return Flights to the U.S.

SmarterTravel

Although some destinations around the world are relaxing entry requirements for fully-vaccinated visitors, the United States still requires a negative COVID-19 test for anyone (vaccinated or not) returning to the country on an international flight.

The CDC recently expanded the rules around what tests would be accepted for flights to the U.S. to include at-home tests, provided they meet very specific criteria. However, it can still be a struggle for travelers to find tests abroad and get results in time for their flight.

To meet this demand, Delta is now selling packable COVID-19 tests for $50 on Delta.com. The tests can be shipped directly to your door, or picked up locally.

The Ellume brand COVID-19 tests are being offered in a partnership with AZOVA, and include video observation (a mandatory component of the testing process for re-entry to the U.S.).

Travelers can schedule their video appointment for the test before they leave the country, take the test from anywhere, and receive their validated results immediately. Note that the video testing portion of the test is required, so be sure you’ll have a reliable WiFi connection at your destination.

Confused about the type of test that you’ll need? Delta now has a travel requirements page where you can search your destination to find out what tests you’ll need, any quarantine restrictions, and any other entry restrictions. Additionally, the new interactive page will tell you face-covering and social destination rules at your destination, as well as show options for COVID-19 testing locations.

If you’re flying into the United Kingdom, which currently requires multiple COVID-19 tests, Delta is now also offering a special bundled testing option that will meet all entry requirements for travel to the U.K.
